Descriptors

A descriptor categorizes a source or effect in some way. Some sources and effects have more than one descriptor. Most descriptors have no game effect by themselves, but they govern how the rules interact with each other. Some descriptors do have game effects. 
 
Damage Type Descriptors
 
Burning
The burning descriptor is a damage type.  
 
Corrosion
The corrosion descriptor is a damage type.
 
Crushing
The crushing descriptor is a damage type.
 
Cutting
The cutting descriptor is a damage type.
 
Piercing
The piercing descriptor is a damage type.
 
Toxic
The toxic descriptor is a damage type.
 
Alignment Type Descriptors
 
Benevolent
The benevolent descriptor is applied to good miniatures and effects. Miniatures that have benevolent traits also have the benevolent descriptor. Effects of benevolent sources have the benevolent descriptor.
 
Chaos
The chaos descriptor is applied to chaotic miniatures and effects. Miniatures that have chaos traits also have the chaos descriptor. Effects of chaos sources have the chaos descriptor.
 
Lawful
The lawful descriptor is applied to lawful miniatures and effects. Miniatures that have lawful traits also have the lawful descriptor. Effects of lawful sources have the lawful descriptor.
 
Malevolent
The malevolent descriptor is applied to evil miniatures and effects. Miniatures that have malevolent traits also have the malevolent descriptor. Effects of malevolent sources have the malevolent descriptor.
 
Supernatural Type Descriptors
 
Compulsion
The compulsion descriptor is applied to mind-affecting effects. Effects of compulsion sources have the compulsion descriptor.
 
Conjuration
The conjuration descriptor is applied to teleportation effects. Effects of conjuration sources have the conjuration descriptor.
 
Death
The death descriptor is applied to effects that cause sudden death. Effects of death sources have the death descriptor.
 
Illusion
The illusion descriptor is applied to effects that deceive the perception of miniatures. Effects of illusion sources have the illusion descriptor.
 
Life
The life descriptor is applied to effects that heal and even resurrect miniatures. Effects of life sources have the life descriptor.
 
Magic
The Magic descriptor is applied to magical miniatures and effects. Miniatures that have magic traits also have the magical creature descriptor. Effects of magic sources have the magic descriptor.
 
Necrotic
The necrotic descriptor is applied to undead miniatures; or effects that animate undead, manipulate undead, or cause decay of the body or soul. Miniatures that have necrotic traits also have the necrotic descriptor. Miniatures that have the necrotic descriptor also have the unliving descriptor. Effects of necrotic sources have the malevolent descriptor.
 
Primal
The primal descriptor is applied to miniatures and effects of nature. Miniatures that have primal traits also have the primal descriptor. Effects of primal sources have the primal descriptor.
 
Psychic
The psychic descriptor is applied to supernatural effects of the mind. Miniatures that have psychic traits also have the psychic descriptor. Effects of psychic sources have the psychic descriptor.
 
Transmutation
The transmutation descriptor is applied to form-altering effects.  Effects of transmutation sources have the transmutation descriptor.
 
Superscience Type Descriptors
 
Biological
The biological descriptor is applied to traits that are inborn to the miniature. Effects of biological sources have the innate descriptor.
 
Techno
The techno descriptor is applied to miniatures and equipment of science. Miniatures that have techno traits also have the techno descriptor. Miniatures that have the techno descriptor also have the unliving descriptor. Effects of techno sources have the techno descriptor.
 
Unliving
The unliving descriptor is applied miniatures that are not alive. Miniatures that have the unliving descriptor are immune to death effects and necrotic attacks.
